Term two sees one class at Makoura College on Monday night, two classes at Ko Te Aroha and one at Lakeview School. Trainer Lisa Gray says "Its full on this term, but the students are doing really well."
CIH Coordinator Martha Manaena says "the day training facility at Ko Te Aroha has been a real bonus, and has ensured that a wide range of people have been able to participate in the programme."
Term 2 has ended with a round of different natured people who i must say enjoyed doing the Computers in Homes program and looking forward to do whatever else they are able to do. We graduated 32 people all up in this term. Mauriceville School - 10 , Ko Te Aroha (morning) - 9, Afternoon - 6 , Evening - 7 all these graduates are from all different schools that are under our program. Out of the 32 we have 8 that signed up for internet 2 of them are on UFB.
Term 3 is underway with a class of 8 at Ko Te Aroha hopefully we can graduate them the last week of school for this term.
The lovely lady in red is our lovely Mayoress of Masterton Lyn Patterson who did all our presentations to our graduates.
TERM 2 - Kia Ora everyone this term has been a bit of a topsy turvy for our CIH classes due to the number of people that sign up and then we have bit of a drop off due to people finding part time or full time jobs or otherwise they can't do mornings or afternoons only evenings but we still manage to have 2 classes up and running.
At this moment we have a CIH class in Featherston which we had 6 signed up but 2 pulled off for work commitments so that leaves us with 4 to graduate. We have a CIH class also at Douglas Park School with a class of 8 which is good. The Graduation for these classes are : Fstn Tues 30th June @ 4 30pm @ Fstn School, DPS Mon 29th June @ Douglas Park School 4 30pm.
Stepping Up - At this moment we have a class running on a Friday morning @ Ko Te Aroha and we have people going there because they have forgotten what they learnt from the first course.
INTERNET - Everyone has there ups and downs with this one we have had a lot of minor problems with this one like …
Martha has organised 3 classes for Term One and they are all underway. Two are at Ko Te Aroha and one at Lakeview. These are the only places where we can offer Windows 7 training.
Lisa is again our wonder tutor and we are all looking forward to seeing the progress of the students.
We are delighted to include some of our Kaumatua this term, who are grandparents to students from our key groups.
